iStock_000018467268Small(1)We believe it’s important to give back to our community. That’s why Fertility Associates of Memphis is “going the distance” for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital as a proud sponsor of the upcoming St. Jude Memphis Marathon Weekend charity run. On Saturday, December 7th, a team of our doctors, nurses, and staff members will run together in support of the good work St. Jude is doing to help children with cancer. And for every new “like” on our Facebook page, we’ll donate $5 toward the cause.

When it comes to preserving fertility in cancer patients ‒ and making a family possible for the future ‒ taking early action can make all the difference. We’re working closely with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and other cancer centers to get the word out about fertility preservation. Many cancer treatments, specifically chemotherapy and radiation, are well documented to cause a decrease in both male and female fertility. This is particularly true in pediatric patients. But children diagnosed with cancer don’t have to give up their dream of one day having a family.

At Fertility Associates of Memphis, our onco-fertility program gives cancer patients the opportunity to preserve their fertility and future parenthood options.  Thanks to techniques like egg freezing and sperm freezing, patients have more choices than ever before.

We are resolved to providing the very best health care to patients in the Mid-South, and we prioritize cancer patients to be seen by one of our physicians within 24 to 48 hours once our office is contacted by an oncologist. In addition, we participate in national onco-fertility programs such as Fertile Hope™ and Verna’s Purse™. For more details about fertility preservation in cancer patients, we encourage you to read more on our web site here. Because everyone deserves the chance to have a family.
