Drs. Brezina and Kutteh teach at 2014 American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists Meeting

Memphis, Tenn. ‒ Drs. Paul Brezina and William Kutteh of Fertility Associates of Memphis were selected to direct and lead the recurrent pregnancy loss program at the 2014 annual clinical meeting of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) in Chicago, Ill.  ACOG holds the nation’s largest meeting for women’s health care physicians every year.

As part of their role, Drs. Brezina and Kutteh taught other physicians cutting edge strategies for managing couples with recurrent pregnancy loss. Their one-day course, titled “Tried and True and New: Management Strategies for Recurrent First Trimester Pregnancy Loss,” blended traditional treatment management for recurrent pregnancy loss with cutting edge techniques, many of which use complex genetic diagnostics.

Drs. Brezina and Kutteh said, “Courses given during ACOG’s annual conference ensure that doctors across the country are delivering the highest possible standard of care. It’s an honor to be chosen to lead this important subspecialty discussion at a national level. Recurrent Pregnancy Loss affects many couples: miscarriage occurs in 20 percent of all pregnancies, but recurrent miscarriage occurs in about 5 percent of all women seeking pregnancy.”

The meeting was Dr. Kutteh’s 12th year to participate in ACOG’s annual conference. He is considered one of the world’s leading researchers in Recurrent Pregnancy Loss, defined as two or more consecutive miscarriages that occur before the 20th week of pregnancy.
