Jianchi Ding, M.Sc., Ph.D., is Certified by the American Board of Bioanalysis as a High-Complexity Clinical Laboratory Director (HCLD) in the disciplines of Embryology and Andrology, and is also a certified embryologist by American College of Embryologists (ACE).

Dr. Ding received his Bachelor and Masters degree in reproductive physiology and biology at the University of Yangzhou in China. He has worked in one of the world’s leading embryology laboratories at the Institute of Animal Physiology and Genetic Research in Babraham, Cambridge, England and in 1989, Dr. Ding moved to Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, where he continued his research at the University of Alberta and received his Ph.D. degree in 1993. He continued his research at the Animal Biotechnology and Embryo Laboratory, Ontario Veterinary College, University of Guelph, Ontario.

Dr. Ding entered human IVF in early 1996, and has successfully incorporated his research experience especially in the area of micromanipulation, blastocyst culture and embryo cryopreservation into the human embryology laboratory.

Dr. Ding’s extensive experience covers all aspects of clinical embryology and andrology, including maintaining the highest possible standards in the IVF laboratory, oocyte and embryo culture, intracytoplasmic sperm injection, blastocyst culture, assisted hatching, embryo biopsy, preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD), fertility cryopreservation by vitrification, and in vitro oocyte maturation.

During the past 30 years he has published 29 scientific research papers in peer reviewed journals and co-authored five major book chapters. He has presented more than 50 scientific reports at national and international meetings.
